I had to wait until I was grown

So I could live on my own

 

And when I met this girl

She sent my head in a twirl

 

I had to wait

Before she said yes to a date

 

I had to wait for the right time   

To ask her to be mine for a lifetime

 

I don’t remember if I got down on one knee

When I asked her if she would marry me

 

I don’t remember where we were

Yes was her answer

 

I had to wait till that day

For the words I Do that we would say

 

Each time her stomach would grow

I had to wait for my kids to show

 

My wife passed without a goodbye

Lovers don’t say goodbye

 

And still I have to wait to be with my wife

When I enter my next life
