About the golden years, what I was told

Is the time of life when you get old

 

What some would say about the golden years

You get old, retire and enjoy the sunset years

 

I retired and I’m up in years

This is not my golden years

 

I should have payed attention to what I had

Thinking back it wasn’t that bad

 

I let my golden years go past

Years with family do not last

 

Thinking back about my life

I miss those years with my wife

 

With my wife watching our kids grow

Those were my golden years that now I know
