A Tree of Tears

When I would look out the window at this tree

So long ago it was planted by my wife and me 

 

For years the apples would fall to the ground

The deer would eat them when they would come around

 

With the weather changing each day

Some of the leaves get blown away

 

Lots of leaves would fall to the ground

The winds would blow them all around

 

Strong winds would cause the branches to shake

The weak ones falling after they break

 

When the leaves are all gone the branches are bare

So when it rains the drops hang like a tear

 

When it snows the branches are so white

A sunny day makes them shine bright

 

Freezing rain makes the tree sparkle

Strong winds can make the branches crackle

 

On a still and calm day

The tree stands still and doesn’t sway

 

The tree showing signs for a short life

It’s another thought of my wife  

 

I moved away from what was once our house

Packing so much in my head the memories of my spouse
